It is an automatic machine for water treatment, inside it the treated low viscosity liquid must cross, from top to bottom, a granular material layer with height up to 3 meters.
The filtering layer stops on the surface the biggest particles and slows down the smallest ones, that progres-sively go through the granular mass, at a speed from 10 to 1000 times lower than the liquid speed.
The particles blocked in the filter are removed through an upstream granular mass washing, possibly fluidified with air or other gas flow.
